Today, we’re doing TWO featured tracks for New Music Tuesday – both from Morrissey, the former frontman of The Smiths!
This is the one you’ve been hearing on 106.3 Radio Lafayette, called “Spent the Day in Bed” from his new album Low In Highschool… such a catchy tune, all about relief from unpleasant realities. He tells us to tune out the news and the media, because it tries to control us with fear. It’s kind of an anthem for escapism. As for why Morrissey is in a wheelchair… I dunno, but I’m sure there’s some artistic reasoning behind it. Don’t worry… he’s fine 🙂
This is another one from Low In Highschool called “Jacky’s Only Happy When She’s Up On the Stage” – I just had to share this one… check out Morrissey’s killer dance moves! This song is very dark, very Smiths-esque.
