I never thought I’d see the day… Alabama Shakes’ Brittany Howard and Jim James of My Morning Jacket covering the Backstreet Boys?!A song I have hated for years, “I Want It That Way” – but leave it to Brittany and Jim to make it AWESOME-SAUCE – it’s being used for a new Chipotle advertisement.The four-minute video kind of reminds me of the animation style of one of my fave movies, “Wreck it Ralph” (don’t laugh, that movie is the bomb!) It’s called “A Love Story”, and it tells the story of two kids with competing juice stands that grow into out-of-control fast food empires. The two grow-up and fall in love, start a family, and realize that they’re better off making their own locally sourced goods from a food truck.
I never expected these two to cover boy band pop hit, but apparently they know how to make a cheezy song sound cool! 🙂
