OH NOES!
We’ve all seen this screen before, if you’re a Google Chrome user that is. See that cute lil’ dinosaur at the top left?? PLAY WITH HIM!
It didn’t occur to me until yesterday that not everyone knows about this little Easter egg game that you can play when the internet gods have failed you. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, read the story below!
A long long time ago (yesterday) in a land called Delta Media… the internet went out for a while. And all of the employees at the radio stations were sad – because no work could get done… But not Brigette Rose! She squealed with delight upon seeing the above screen, because she knew it was time… TO PLAY WITH T-REX!!
She then hit the space bar on her keyboard to start the game… and all her sadness over the loss of the internet went extinct! She had her T-Rex jumping over cacti and pterodactyls… she even beat her high score!
The other employees were confused upon seeing this display. “How are you playing a game with out the internet?” they asked. “That’s the only time you can play with T-Rex!” she replied. Word began to travel across the land of Delta Media of this “secret game” in Google Chrome… and no one was EVER bored again!! THE END!
Haha – hope you enjoyed my story, it’s based on real events from yesterday! It’s something I discovered years ago, and I had no idea that so many people had not heard of it. All you do is press the space bar and the game starts, it also it the only button you need to play. It’s great for passing the time when your internet is down.
In my quest to write this blog, I learned 2 neat things about the T-Rex game that I didn’t know before:

I used to think the pterodactyls were birds… it’s 8-bit after all, I’m surprised the T-Rex looks right.
