Well, I saw Director Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters and I gotta say it was fun! I agree with quite of few people out their that there is room in our hearts for both the original and this new take set on the classic. Very funny, entertaining in parts and call backs to the original were abundant. In my opinion, Kate McKinnon and Chris Hemsworth’s scenes were some of the best parts of the film! I look forward to seeing how they keep expanding the franchise.
BTW: stay through out the credits for some extra scenes and what might be a possible spoiler for the follow-up sequel 🙂
Now, after you catch the film, head to Netflix and catch the new documentary, Ghostheads, that explores the extreme side of the Ghostbusters fandom and looks back at the impact the franchise has had on the world over the past three decades. Through interviews with key cast and crew, including Dan Aykroyd, Ivan Reitman, Ernie Hudson and many more, as well as with Ghostbusters fans all over the world, Ghostheads presents countless humanizing stories that will connect with audiences about comradery, overcoming obstacles, and that no one should ever feel alone or isolated.
Ghostheads will show what really separates a fandom from the rest. Every Ghosthead is unique. Every Franchise is its own and it happens to feature our own Louisiana Ghostbusters! Louisiana Ghostbusters is a fan-based public service Ghostbusters fan group that volunteers as costumed heroes in a wide variety of charitable events. I have met several of the people involved with our state Franchise and what they do is amazing! They are all awesome people and please support them and their efforts if you ever see them out and about. Also, in my opinion, they have the best Franchise logo too! Check it out…
It’s been over 30 years since Ghostbusters first premiered on the big screen back in 1984, with the film spawning generations of fans all over the world. This documentary captures the magic these movies created by showcasing the fans, and seeing the reactions from the cast and crew involved with the Ghostbusters franchise overall.
Now, as a kid that owned a Proton Pack, PKE Meter, Ghost Trap, countless action figures, watched the cartoons and busted ghosts in my living room day in and out… I have to say it’s a great time to be alive and a fan of Ghostbusters!
In the words of Ray Parker Jr. “Bustin’ makes me feel good!”
