Bad Suns is an American alternative rock band that formed in 2012, whose sound is inspired from 70s and 80s post-punk artists like The Cure and Elvis Costello. Most of the band members are from Los Angeles – the current line-up consists of vocalist Christo Bowman, drummer Miles Morris, guitarist Ray Libby, and bassist Gavin Bennett. “Transpose” was recorded in the studio with producer Eric Palmquist (The Mars Volta, Wavves, Trash Talk) and serves as a prelude to the band’s debut full-length album Language & Perspective, released in 2014.
For those lucky fans that have already heard of and known about Bad Suns for a while, it’s probably because they have been touring around the country recently with another popular breakout band – The 1975. It’s not surprising to know that these two acts have worked together in this capacity, since both have a similar aesthetic in their sounds of upbeat 80s-sounding instrumentals utilized and paired with cynical, modern-day lyrics. Other highlights include “Take My Love and Run,” “Salt” (which was previously released on the EP Transpose, and “Learn To Trust.”
“Cardiac Arrest” (2013), the four-piece’s first official single, follows the first two tracks as a hypnotically rhythmic and catchy ode to the danger of a woman’s kiss, which reached #14 on the US Alternative Songs chart. Watch the video below!
This video is for the second single released in 2014 called “Salt.”
This is the video for their most recent single,”We Move Like the Ocean” (2015)
