The Wild Feathers formed in Nashville, Tennessee in 2010, and interestingly enough, almost every member has served as a lead singer in a previous band. Made up of four members – Ricky Young, Joel King, Ben Dumas, and Taylor Burns, the Wild Feathers came together out of a shared love of music by Tom Petty, Led Zeppelin, Neil Young, the Band, and the Allman Brothers.
Preferring the term “American” over Americana, the Wild Feathers began opening for large acts like Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson.
The band’s self-titled debut was released in the summer of 2013 and hit number one on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart. Below is the music video for “Backwoods Company” from their debut album.
Their success led to invites to appear on Jimmy Kimmel, Conan O Brien, Seth Meyers, and many other talk shows, as well as critical acclaim from the likes of Rolling Stone, The New York Times, and USA Today.
Meanwhile, they struck a balance between ethereal ambiance on “Sleepers”
