The Return of AWESOME VIDEO GAMES!
Today I am not only celebrating St. Patty’s Day 2016… but also the return of my favorite web series of all time… a series you may not have heard of before… it’s called AWESOME VIDEO GAMES!! It’s been 10 years since they released new episodes, and I kind of assumed they were never going to… but a few days ago Far From Subtle TV released this teaser…
If you grew up in the 90s, and you lost your mind over 8-bit Nintendo games… this show was made for you. It’s called Awesome Video Games, and is centered around the two main characters, Chet and Ace. The two “boys” (well, ok, adults portraying young boys growing up in late 80s early 90s), and they cover/review/play-test various retro-games and retro-video gaming consoles as if they’re brand new, and like in 90s sitcoms, Dad always interrupts the fun to make them “take out the trash”. You’ll see familiar games and peripherials, such as the Nintendo “zapper”, the “Game Genie”, and “R.O.B.” the robot. My personal favorites, episodes 13-17 are centered around R.O.B and Gyromite… The boys have forgotten an important part of the DELUXE SET they got for Christmas a couple of years ago… and HE’S BACK FOR REVENGE… check out part 1 below!
Another multi-parter… featuring the GAME GENIE! Remember all those codes that helped you CHEAT at your favorite games?? Cousin Lester introduces the boys to cheat codes in a very trippy drug reference sort-of way, and wraps it up like a D.A.R.E. PSA. “Remember kids… no game is complete when you cheat!!” Watch part one of the Game Genie episode below.
