Shining the spotlight on talented local artists is what we do!
We debuted her song “Rosarito”on 106.3 Radio Lafayette last month, and now there’s an official music video! Check out the brand new music video for “Rosarito” by Alicia Cibola, from Lafayette, LA!
Bio:
Alicia Cibola a singer songwriter from Lafayette, La. Growing up in a multicultural home gave her a unique upbringing and taste in music. Her songwriting is heavily influenced by personal experiences and various genres like blues, jazz, reggae, country, and soul.
Alicia’s powerful vocals and descriptive lyrics are a direct result of creativity that was nurtured during her childhood. She grew up singing in church choirs and participating in school plays. School programs garnered her love and respect for the arts and songwriting; at Lafayette High School, she had lead roles in multiple musical productions and choir shows.
The desire to alleviate the baggage of life would lead her to write songs that she swore she’d never share with the world. After a tumultuous 2014, and what she now calls her “quarter life crisis”, she wrote 10 poignant and relatable songs. In 2015, at the urging of friends and family, Alicia began recording and performing original songs that dig deep into the pitfalls of loss, love, and life. She performs at House of Blues Houston open mic nights; her cover songs have been shared on social media by recording artists like Tonic and news outlets alike.
Alicia’s debut single, “Rosarito” is inspired by the need to escape one’s problems literally and figuratively. The music video for “Rosarito” premieres online on Nov. 2 and the song will also be available for download on Nov. 2.
