Trailer for the new Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild at E3

OMG… The trailer for the new Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild!!!

… and I’m absolutely wild about it!

As a long-time fan of the series, I’ve noticed a few things:

  1. For starters, he’s not using the Master Sword in any of the scenes in the trailer. Looks like a whole lotta subweaponry going on here. Do we even use the sword? Dear gawd I hope so, can you imagine trying to kill everything with the bow? I see it on his back, but never in use.
  2. We’re hunting for food?! That a first for the franchise. It feels very kin to Elder Scrolls with this new addition.
  3. Look at the logo! The sword is covered in rust… If you think back to Ocarina of Time, the sword is shiny and new in that logo. Also in Link to the Past, it’s battle damaged, but still not rusted. Could this be a hint as to where this game falls in the timeline of the series (yes there is a timeline that links the games, though very convoluted)
  4. The Master Sword appears to be sleeping in the lost woods perhaps? Not the Temple of Time. Could it be close to Link to the Past in the timeline??
  5. Link is a right handed again, still not returning to the original lefty-Link. When Nintendo made Twilight Princess on the wii, they switched hands so that the majority (right-handed players) would feel more at home while swinging the Wii remote in their right hand to control their sword. Makes sense… but no love for lefties??? Aw snap!
  6. Did I just see Link JUMP?! No way… YES WAY!! He totally can jump like in Hyrule Warriors!!
  7. Voice acting! I guess that’s Zelda talking or… either way, another first for the series!

I could go on, but I’d rather just let you watch the trailer from E3. The music naturally, is epic, as in any Zelda game. If you don’t get goosebumps, you’re just not human… LOL
