One-Eyed Doll is a duo from Austin, Texas that have gained an exceptionally loyal (and rapidly growing) fan base since 2006 with consistent touring, a solid memorable live performance, and a DIY connection with the fans. The band’s live set is an interactive fan-friendly experience that’s both heavy/sinister and sweet/vulnerable. Their darkly humored, intense, sometimes quirky and theatrical rock and roll captures the hearts of metal, rock, goth and punk all-ages audiences night after night.

One-Eyed Doll has had over 1 million YouTube views and has had music featured on several video games, movies and TV shows, including MTV’s Road Rules!

Who are the members?

The band’s lead singer and guitarist is Kimberly Freeman. She has been described as Gwar meets Strawberry Shortcake. She performs on a signature Tregan guitar, accompanied by the lone drummer (and producer) Jason Rufuss Sewell a.k.a. Junior.

The first time I saw them, they were just an opening act, and I had no idea who they were…

As I mentioned earlier – they are very theatrical, often incorporating props like viking helmets and other costume pieces in their live performances. They have been been described musically as “bastard laboratory love child of Dresden Dolls meets White Stripes and Marilyn Manson.”[12]

  1. She was featured as one of Revolver Magazine‘s Hottest Chicks in Hard Rock in 2011, 2012, and 2015, and Guitar Player Magazine‘s Top 20 Most Extraordinary Guitarists.
  2. In real life, Kimberly Freeman speaks Mandarin fluently from a stint in China before beginning her music career, and was a volunteer for the Red Cross at Ground Zero after 9-11
  3. Kimberly Freeman is one of several real-life people to appear in the massively multiplayer online role playing game AdventureQuest Worlds (where she is styled as the True Sixth Lord of Chaos)
